Reminiscent of the caramel apples you loved as a kid (just without the sticky fingers).
This grown-up twist combines non-alcoholic rum, crisp apple cider, a drizzle of homemade caramel syrup, and the clean, focused energy of Tatsu Tea. It’s nostalgic, refreshing, and a little indulgent — fall in a glass, the Tatsu way.
Ingredients:
- 2 oz Tatsu Tea
- 2 oz N.A./zero proof rum
- 1 oz apple cider
- 1/4 oz homemade caramel syrup (or store-bought if preferred)
- small pinch fine sea salt
Directions:
- Make the homemade caramel syrup: In a medium saucepan, add 3/4 c granulated sugar and 1/2 c water and whisk together. Heat over med-high until it begins to boil. Once sugar is completely dissolved, reduce heat slightly to med-low. Keep at a low boil for 15 minutes or until a golden amber color appears. Remove from heat and whisk in 1/2 cup hot water. If any syrup hardens, return to heat and whisk until dissolved.
- Add ice to shaker.
- Add rum, Tatsu Tea, cider, caramel syrup, and salt.
- Shake well and strain over ice in a rocks glass.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick and enjoy!
